Captain Hunt asked that this letter be forwarded to all the Red Shirts. Thank you all for your support. frank ----- Original Message ----- From: dennyhunt@ To: fmuller@ Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2008 5:32 AM Subject: THANK YOU FROM IRAQ Dear Brookings – Harbor Redshirts, Let me first start out by saying WOW! The private citizens in your organization are really a step above the rest. I just received a number of boxes from your group and they currently in the hands of a number of delighted soldiers currently deployed here in Iraq. Words fail me in my vain attempt to thank the individuals and your organization. I am in awe when I see this type of support for our young men and women who wear the uniform. Please know that the soldiers who received you kind gift are tremendously grateful. Your contribution helps them feel a greater connection with the beloved country we are now so diligently serving. Your organizations actions are nothing short of a miracle in the eyes of these young troops. I know I speak on their behalf when I say that heroes come in many shapes and sizes, and YOU and your organization are truly heroes. Please forgive the mass thank you, but in our current situation you would not receive a letter for about 2 and half weeks from now, and I would be remiss if I did not thank those who participated individually as soon as I could. Please give these individuals our sincerest thanks and recognition. On behalf of Border Transition Team 4313 (WAR DONKEYS) and 2/3 ACR (Armored Cavalry Regiment) we would like to personally thank the following individuals (please know that we have adopted all of you into our hearts as well): Frank and Sandra Muller Mike and Elfie Noonan Bob and Marilyn Kampf Leonard Mainquist and Sue Vizenor Carroll Norris – Your last name is legendary in this country (for Soldiers) / Great coffee Sandy Jojo – My group of guys love your original name. We will name a mission we do in the future SANDY JOJO (keep an eye out for it). Jerry and Nancy Campbell Ralph Martin Gene Magnum Dave and Sharon Heitzman Dorothy Schrieber Jerry and Paula Wiltse – Those crunch bars were a God send for sure (there gone now) Marion Stewart Eyvonne Rosenberger – Thanks from the 2 girls over here Sue Vizenor Paul Addison – Thanks for the letter and magazine The side notes are some specific comments my guys have asked me to put into this letter. I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you for the cards, canned foods & can opener, personal hygiene items, other food items, and the candy. We are tremendously thankful and will keep in touch the best we can. A special thanks to Frank and Sandra who sent a small letter explaining your organization and the Oregon area within which you all live. It is amazing how a community can come together as strong as yours has and serve as you do. We would love to have one of your shirts (if you can) we will wear it proudly (and maybe on a few missions so we can send pictures)
Frank and Sandra please ensure everyone in your group at Brookings-Harnor
receives this message. They all desreve a big hug. The picrture is of me
and my team (I am far right). We work with alot of other people, but we
don't take pictures of them (they are not as good looking). CPT Dennis M. Hunt Jr. |
